Happy Mother’s day to our readers! I thought I would share a few photos from our first Mother’s Day in Singapore. Nancy and I treated Sharo to breakfast in bed and then spent the afternoon with bike ride through Pasir Ris park and a walk in the park’s Mangrove forest.
The great thing is that we used our hike through the Mangrove as part of Nancy’s homeschooling. This included research on Mangroves the following day and a one page report on the importance of Mangroves for a community in Thailand!
Oh, and keep an eye out for the pit viper in the photos below!
The mangroves are full of crab houses, below is a crab hanging out on his front porch.
The animal that looks like a fish out of water below is, well, a fish out of water! This is a mudskipper!
Do you see the head sticking out of the hole in this tree? This is a pit viper and was hanging out right in front of a sign that was talking about how venomous it was! Needless to say, Sharo was a bit shaken for the remainder of the trail and was looking at all the trees trying to find more. Incredibly she did! I have a feeling we will not be making many more trips into the mangroves, now that she is aware that there are very poisonous snakes there.
How did you spend mother’s day?
It was really fun.
